In 1996 eighteen people interested in tapestry attended a retreat in Dahlonega, Georgia, that became the initial meeting for a regional organization of tapestry weavers. From that meeting Tapestry Weavers South (TWS) was formed.

TWS supports the goals of the American Tapestry Alliance (ATA), a national organization. Our membership includes tapestry weavers of all skill levels, primarily in the southeastern states.

After celebrating 30 wonderful years of tapestry weaving, TWS will be closing as an organization. Thank you to all the wonderful tapestry weavers, for the memories and being part of our organization.

FAREWELL

TWS held the final virtual member meeting on Sunday, February 8 and will now move forward on retiring the organization. This website will stay open until the end of the 2025-2026 Member Year, through June 30, 2026. Thank you for all the memories and lasting friendships.
