Artist Statement

I focus on taking some elements of a natural landscape and translating it into my own imagery. The relationship between color and form is the most important consideration, with combinations of fine wool, silk and metallic yarns because of the different way that they react to light. I love spending time with the landscape and seeing what inspires me as I translate that into tapestry. Occasionally I experiment with bookmaking, textile  collage, and eco printing but tapestry is my primary focus.
